Friday 12-31-04

Well its been one hell of a year. I must apologize for my absence. I did however see a large increase in site activity around the 10th month, but my lack of activity and absence caused me to loose over 1000 readers. It was a milestone for me, starting this comic. It didn't start how I wanted it to and it isn't working the way I wish it to. But hell, its one fun learning process where if no one else likes it I can at least see my own capibility increasing as I attempt to conquer this task.

I didn't look to hard and I sure as hell didn't find any help. I have discovered that each page of your comic isn't necessarily a story but it is a point. So all the stories I have tried to produce, all 9 of them that is, were illustrated as mini stories instead as points to the bigger picture. So I now present the first point in my story in a long time, ok its the first one. The time line is the beginning of winter for the majority of us Texans its still 80 degrees. Today the weather peaked at 75 and is quite comfortable. I wear a coat at 60, that cold to me. So if your wondering why Merriam is wearing a sundress and is complaining about the cold now you know.

Other points of interest for this comic is that they are in an old U-Haulass truck and the last one i was in, which is what I used to model it, had only one huge bench and nuttin but room. If you have ever been in an older car (80's or so) thats the sound they make when you turn on the AC or heater. I was going to draw the outside of the vehicle and work some shading in but I am still not speady enough to do that and produce in a timely manner. Its late in the evening in the comic, about 9:37pm and its late. Jade will be getting off of work here in a few moments and we will get to that next update. Lastly, its hard to tell but the last thing Merriam says is that she is still cold, there is some bit of a time gap between the last thing Kitti says and the last thing Merriam says, I didn't know how to illustrate that in a meaningful manner so here is the result.

Its new years evening and about 10 in the night. 2 more hours and I will still be at work, working. Its an exciting newyears and this time I am guaranteed to remember what I did, lol. Ok so that only happened once, but it was recorded with both a camcorder and digital camera. So, I aint doing that again. Allright peeps enjoy the update and I will work, starting now, on the next update.

I was visiting another site I enjoy going to, Sabrina~Online by E.C. and I found a good example of the last speach bubble for Merriam. So I changed it, viola! He may never see this but thanks Eric, I hope my site does half as well as his. And yes I am posting this in 2005, still at work... bleh... Stupid doubles...
